2010 RowingPEI Registration

Rowing is back!

May 8th, 2010. RowingPEI will be holding its 2010 registration at the Murphy Center in Charlottetown, 200 Richmond Street, Room number 105. The registration will be this Saturday, May 8th, 2010 from 10:30 am to 12:30 noon.

The 2010 calendar program for this summer is now available. The club will be offering the Learn to Row (LTR) levels one and two programs all summer at various times. Each Learn to Row (LTR) session can accommodate eight rowers.

The first session will be held the last weekend in May. The seats in each session will be on a first come first served basis.

Rowing PEI, this year is focused on the Master and Developmental Rowing. We will be located at the Charlottetown Yacht Club taking weekend rowing tours to different locations around the Island; picnics on the water. If you have family coming home this summer, the Learn to Row has four sessions that can fit nicely into a family vacation and fun to do together.

The RowingPEI envisions the club to be a family affair. Mom’s and Dad’s are encouraged to bring family members. This is a sport for the young and the old. There are rowers in theirs 80’s still rowing.

It is a low impact sport and develops core strength making it an excellent cross-training exercise for other sports such as athletics, basket ball, hockey and soccer. Our on water times are early in the morning giving a great work-out before breakfast.

We would like to see you and/or your son and/or daughter experience a sport that has its roots on the Island as early as the 1820’s. No one is too old to start. For more information, we’ll see you Saturday or contact Stephen Murray, smurray@islandtelecom.com . If you wish to Learn to Row and cannot stop by this weekend please send an email with your contact information so we can follow-up.
