LTR Signup Tonight

For rowers who want to get their LTR rows in, we’re holding a signup session where rowers can sign up for LTR seats this week. At the CYC at 6:30 pm tonight.

Please understand that rows may be cancelled due to weather, and if Level 2 rowers are not available to take all boats out, some of these seats may be cancelled. Come early to put your name in!

Off and Rowing!

Our Open House held on June 18th was a great success and we welcome new rowers who have since signed up with us!

Learn to Row (LTR) classroom sessions have been held for a group of Youth rowers and one group of Masters rowers. These novices have had their first coached sessions and are now going to fill in LTR seats in the open rows.
We are working on updating the schedule with added row times and safety boat operators so that everyone gets a chance to take advantage of any good weather that comes our way. This updated schedule should be available in the next few days.
We’re also working on polishing our communication skills to let people know when rows are cancelled. It is not always possible to post to Facebook or the blog ahead of time, so if you show up at the dock to row and see that the orange flag is up on our docks, that means the row is cancelled. We’ve had very few row times not cancelled so far, so fingers crossed summer will arrive soon!

Saturday June 4th Work Party, LTR, etc.

SATURDAY JUNE 4th

8:30am-11:30am – Charlottetown Yacht Club – Work Party to clean and rig the boats, carpet the docks, etc. All hands on deck!

11:30am-12:30pm – Lunch (at CYC?)

12:30-2:30pm – Learn to Row for rowers from last year who missed the LTR sessions (dry land session only)

3:00pm – PEI Canoe & Kayak Association Annual General Meeting – Room 212 Sport PEI building, 40 Enman Cres. Issues affecting Rowing PEI are on the agenda. Anyone from Rowing PEI who is able to attend, your support is welcomed!

Note: Anyone wanting to register for this rowing season who has not yet paid their membership, there will be forms on hand. This is a good opportunity, since you won’t be able to row this year without having registered your membership. (LTR is included in your membership)
