A Rowing Success! Our First Ever Rowing PEI Regatta

Thanks to everyone who participated in Rowing PEI’s first ever Regatta. We had a great day on the water with a super lunch to follow.  Thank you especially to the umpires and other race officials who spent the morning on the water.  We are very excited to have had twenty participants!!  That is almost half of the club participating, including some of our new Learn to Row graduates.

The ten teams were selected in a blind draw.  The pairings included a range of age and experience level, which added to the excitement of the competition.

In the end, the winning team was Hannah Gibson and Jason Steeves, followed by Nathan Gibson and Nancy Russell.  The third place team consisted of Aleya Quilty and Laura Daudelin.  Congrats to everyone who participated.  It was a steep learning curve, rowing out and racing on a course for the first time.  But we all learned a lot.  And there is some talk that we will try to do it again in September!

Complete results will be posted here, along with more photos.
