Rowing PEI welcomes new and returning rowers for the 2017 season!

Rowing PEI welcomes beginner and experienced rowers ages 16 and up.  We offer Learn to Row as well as a summer-long program of rows on the Charlottetown Harbour. Rowing is low-impact and exercises all the major muscle groups as well as giving you a great cardio workout.  No experience with water sports is needed and it is a great substitute for exercise after being in the gym all winter. You can row recreationally but there is also the opportunity for all ages to compete. Our coastal boats are made especially for the wind and wave conditions on the Harbour. We row out of the Charlottetown Yacht Club from May to October. Registration will be held Saturday April 23 and online.

Rowing PEI started in 2010 with the loan of several boats from Rowing Canada.

We are an energetic, social, and inclusive group, ranging in age from youth (16+) to adults. We bring to the water a broad range of fitness and skill levels.

Our coastal sculls are wider and more stable, allowing us to row in more varied conditions, including the wind and waves of the Charlottetown Harbour.

Why Row?

Rowers tend to be passionate about their sport. The sensation of being able to propel a boat at speed through the water under one’s own power is exhilarating.

Rowing also brings significant health benefits. It exercises all the major muscle groups through the full range of motion, involves no body contact or jarring of the joints, and improves both strength and cardiovascular performance. It attracts those looking for an enjoyable recreational activity as well as those looking for exciting competitive opportunities.

And if you enjoy watching a beautiful sunrise and sunset? Well, this is the sport for you!
