Thanks to the intrepid Chris Williams who made the trek from Halifax to Charlottetown in the driving snow, including crossing the Confederation Bridge with two boats strapped on top of his car!
Chris is a former high performance coach in Nova Scotia who is graciously lending us two racing singles for our Canada Games training team. They are Van Dusens – and will be put to good use by our youth competitors.
A big thank you as well to Lea and Russ Bryden who told Chris about our plight (losing most of our racing boats in the barn collapse) and helped make the connection with Rowing P.E.I.
We still have a lot of fundraising to do, but this is a big step forward in our ability to prepare our athletes for the 2017 Canada Summer Games.
