If you are interested in trying the sport of rowing, Rowing P.E.I. is holding registration for the 2017 season this Saturday.
“Learn to Row is your entry point to rowing,” said Rowing P.E.I. president Daphne Dumont.
“Whether you’re looking for a low impact, full body workout, a way to get out on the water, a chance to meet some great people or a combination, it all starts with Learn to Row.”
Dumont added there is no experience with water sports needed and rowing is a great substitute for exercise after being in the gym all winter.
“Our coastal boats are made especially for the wind and wave conditions on the Charlottetown Harbour,” said Dumont.
The club rows out of the Charlottetown Yacht Club from May to October. There are also plans to set up “try rowing” events in other Island communities this season, with support from Rowing Canada Aviron.
Rowing P.E.I. will also be sending a team of rowers to the Canada Summer Games in Kenora, Ontario in late July.
The Rowing P.E.I. registration takes place this Saturday, May 6th, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the House of Sport-Royalty Centre, 40 Enman Crescent in Charlottetown.
